Make Room For Back To School
Back to school might be a little far off for most of us, but don't tell that to retailers across the country who are stocking their shelves full of crayons, backpacks and pencils. What do generic school supplies have to do with storage units? Nothing, but the rows of home organizers that are on sale this time of year does have a lot to do with storage. Say thank you to a college student the next time you see them because stores are bending over backwards trying to push products at students trying to make the cramped, blank, boring, and uncomfortable jail cell dorm room feel more like home.
Everything from plastic bins, to shelving units, to easily assembled book cases, and stick-on wall hooks are priced to sell. Retail chains have huge departments strictly dedicated to dorm organization. Plastic bins and egg crates aren't just for dorms. They can be great tools in organizing a storage unit. Simple by assembling snap together shelves and filling carefully labeled bins you've created a useable space. Cardboard boxes stacked in the corner collecting dust are a waste of space and effort, but clear bins that are labeled and shelved are useful and handy because now your household items are visible and accessible.
Seriously, during this time of year, you can organize just about anything. For the college athlete, stores have created wall mounted equipment organizers. For artists, they have countless desks, drawers and folders. For the chef in the family, book shelves and adjustable metal organizing shelves to safely house any pot or pan are all the rage. You can even create your own mini-attic with ceiling mounted shelves.
Take a few minutes and organize your storage unit, garage, kitchen, closet, pantry or anywhere else in your life that could use a little bit of attention. Take advantage of the organizational sales that happen during this time of year. 'Tis the season to get organized and save a little money while doing it.
